All-Digital Cerner Smart Hospital
Fisher-Titus Medical Center (Norwalk, OH) and Magruder Hospital (Port Clinton, OH) became the first two all-digital Cerner "smart" hospitals in the nation after implementing a fully integrated electronic health record (EHR) system and interactive technology in "smart" patient rooms in April 2010.
This launched both hospitals to the top 5% of the most automated and safest hospitals in the nation and create an infrastructure to eventually build a connected health network in the region.
Both independent community hospitals, FTMC and Magruder have worked together for 11 years on technology projects. The organizations have continued that collaborative effort by partnering with the Cerner Corporation, saving costs to bring state-of-the-art technology and high quality, automated, patient-centered health care to their patients and communities.
